Workshop on stagecraft a Big Hit

Workshop on stagecraft a Big Hit

The residential workshop, which attracts teenagers from all corners of Ireland, sees renowned Director Peter Kennedy, who directed Thurles Musical Society’s Titanic earlier this year, link up with Mary Rose Rose McNally as Musical Director as they journey through a week of tutoring and mentoring to help bring out, and nurture, the natural talent which is so much in abundance. The transformation from the the start of the week, which began on Sunday last, and culminates with a show in The Source on Friday evening, is always remarkable and this year will be no exception.

AIMS have added an adult workshop this year with Director Tony Finnegan linking up with MD Gay Kirwin to give adults a chance to hone their acting, singing and dancing skills and to help make them more aware of stage presence and craft.

Overseeing the week is AIMS President Richard Lavery, Vice-President Olive Melville, Honorary Secretary Mary Butler of Thurles Musical Society fame, and will also see Moira Nolan, Billy Holmes, Laura Ryan (also Thurles), Mary Heaney, Majella Flanagan and Brendan and Maureen Keohane in attendance.
