Labour Councillor Lalor McGee revealed at the December meeting of Nenagh Town Council that a group has been working for the past 12 months to bring a four-day silent film festival to Nenagh.

Reacting to Cllr Séamus Morris’ suggestion that Nenagh Town Council should target a Fáilte Ireland grant initiative, which revolves around attracting events to Ireland which attract a minimum of 600 bed nights, Cllr McGee said that a festival was planned for next August.

“There is a committee working to bring a four-day festival to Nenagh next August and the plan is to attract a four-figure attendance. A local committee was formed two weeks ago, but the project has been worked on for the last 12 months,” Cllr McGee said.
