On Sunday August 16th, a large crowd of residents turned out for the annual Spafield Crescent Residents Association family fun day on the green area at the eastern boundary.

Spafield residents hold this as a get-together and as a thank you for all those who work hard in keeping Spafield clean throughout the year. Cllr Martin Browne (Chairperson) explained that young and old in the estate work hard with rubbish picking- painting- grass cutting and flower beds. This is a real community effort and is appreciated by the committee. This year the residents’ association invited their near neighbours from Oliver Plunkett Park to join them for the day. This year they had two Bouncy Castles for the children to enjoy themselves. Cllr Browne, on behalf of the committee, wants to thank all those who supplied food for the day. A big thank you to Jackie Kennedy and Coral Doherty who did the face painting, to John Peters for supplying music for the party and to Ger (Skippy) Myers who helped organise the day. This was a great success & residents are already looking forward to next year.
