The Source Arts Centre, Thurles Library and Thurles Leisure Centre invite you to the river’s edge to enjoy a day of fun and creativity for the whole family to enjoy on Saturday, June 20th (11am-4pm).
Bring your children, parents, grandparents, cousins and friends along to enjoy family entertainment, arts and crafts, street performance, tours of the ‘Fitter Happier, More Productive Exhibition and much more.
The newly-renovated Stef Hans Café will also provide tasty treats for you to savour and the leisure centre will be running family freindly rates all day.

Location - The Library 11am to 11.45am - Magic Show with Oliver Corbett (not suitable for toddlers).
Location - The Theatre 11am to 1.20 pm : Film ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse of The Black Pearl’ (CERT: 12).
Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate Captain Jack Sparrow to save Turner’s love, Elizabeth Swann, from undead pirates led by Jack’s former mutinous first mate, Captain Barbossa.
Jack wants revenge against Barbossa, who left him stranded on an island before stealing his ship, the Black Pearl, along with 882 pieces of cursed Aztec Gold.
Location - The Foyer 12 to 4 pm: Book Clinic with Juliette and Elaina from Children’s Books Ireland.

Children’s Books Ireland are bringing the Book Clinic to the Family Fun Day at the Source Arts Centre and Library in Thurles. Visit the Book Doctor, consult on your favourite reads and come away with a prescription for your next book which you can take to your local bookshop or library!
Location - The Boardwalk 1.30 pm and 3.00 pm. ‘Lulu’s World’. Meet Lulu, a street artist that can’t be contained in any gallery.
Enter her crazy world of make believe, where magic happens right in front of you! Dressed in yesterday’s news, this lady will sweep you off your feet and drag you into her imagination. Against a background of madness, scenes unfold, pouring from her pen onto paper,turning the 2D world of sketching into a 3D experience for the child in all of us. Who needs words when you’ve got a blank canvas, and a marker to fill it.
Location - The Foyer 2 to 4 p.m: Balloon modelling with Oliver Corbett.
Location - TBC 2 - 4 pm: A View from the other side of the camera: A workshop for beginners in photography.
Using cameras, smart phones etc. During the workshop, we will look at camera settings, working with your camera, how to take a good photo, how to take a group photos, and getting the best from your camera.
This is a great opportunity to see how photography works. The workshop will be presented by Eileen Quinlan, from Thurles Camera Club.Talk for one hour session with 9-12 year olds and 1 hour for 13-16 year olds. A certificate will be presented for doing the workshop.
