The Source Film Club presents ‘Boyhood’

The Source Film Club presents a screening of Richard Linklater’s acclaimed Oscar-nominated drama ‘Boyhood’ which follows the life of a young boy and his family over twelve years as he grows from six-year old child into young adult.

The Source Film Club presents a screening of Richard Linklater’s acclaimed Oscar-nominated drama ‘Boyhood’ which follows the life of a young boy and his family over twelve years as he grows from six-year old child into young adult.

Beginning in 2002 the film introduces us to six-year-old Mason (Ellar Coltrane) who lives with his mother Olivia (Patricia Arquette) and older sister Samantha (Lorelei Linklater). As a single parent Olivia struggles to raise her kids while holding down a dead-end job and meeting a succession of men who inevitably disappoint. Mason senior (Ethan Hawke) has become an intermittent presence in his kids’ lives, having already moved to Alaska in order to figure his own life.

‘Boyhood’ will be screened at The Source Arts Centre in Thurles on Wednesday, February 4th at 8pm.
