The Dubliners have decided to bring the curtain down on their touring career at the end of this their 50th year.

Imelda May recently joined them in The Abbey Tavern, Howth, for a nostalgic celebration of The Dubliners fifty years in music remembering especially their great banjo player and raconteur Barney McKenna, a much loved native of Howth who sadly passed away recently.

The Dubliners line up in the programme are John Sheahan, Seán Cannon, Eamonn Campbell, Patsy Watchorn and Gerry O’Connor who will be doing many of their favourite numbers including ‘Peigín Leitír Mór’, ‘The Ferryman’ and ‘The Rare Ould Times’.

The hour long programme is presented by singer Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh on Christmas at Night 9.15pm
