AN estimated 55 floats and groups will bring the streets of Nenagh alive this Saturday when the St Patrick’s Day parade makes its way from Summerhill down to the railway station.
And the organisers are hoping for a larger turn out than last year when an estimated 6,000 viewed the colourful spectacle.
“There is a huge amout of interest in the parade this year,” said Cllr Hughie McGrath, who brought the parade back to Nenagh during his term as Mayor three years ago. “There are a lot of companies, sports clubs and voluntary groups who want to take part. We have more people taking part this year than any other year.”
He expects that there will be a “terrific atmosphere” in the town over the coming weekend.
