The Fingerprint of God is one of four cantatas written by Ruth Beasley with words compiled by her sister, Audrey Francis. This is a series of biblical themes, narrated and sung, woven into a story that begins with the Creation and brings us through the Nativity to the Passion, ending with a new setting of St Patrick’s Breastplate. At the close of the piece, the audience all join with the choir and soloists in a hymn to creation set to the well known tune of Be Thou My Vision.
