Learning from art at The Source

An exhibition of children’s art work inspired by The National Gallery of Ireland’s collection and entitled ‘Learning From Art’ is now on display at The Source Gallery unti January 29th - the official opening took place on Saturday, December 7th with Dr Marie Bourke (Head of Education, The National Gallery) doing the honours.

An exhibition of children’s art work inspired by The National Gallery of Ireland’s collection and entitled ‘Learning From Art’ is now on display at The Source Gallery unti January 29th - the official opening took place on Saturday, December 7th with Dr Marie Bourke (Head of Education, The National Gallery) doing the honours.

‘Learning From Art’ comprises the work of primary and post primary students from 32 counties. The children interpreted a picture from the National Gallery in the form of a poem, a piece of prose or an artwork.

These art works display the widest forms of expression from the naïve to the sophisticated, the graphic to the painterly and the humorous to the reflective.

An extensive variety of media is explored including ink, pastels, water colour, poster paint, gouache, acrylic and collage.
