Votes of sympathy to John O’Donovan, Templemore one of the founders of Thurles Branch in 1957 on death of his brother Gus O’Donovan, Dublin. To Mary O’Donovan Templemore on death of her sister Josephine Doyle. To Theresa Shelley on death of her Aunt Peggy Murphy, Clonmel. To Ryan family, Grennanstown, Toomevara on passing to her eternal reward of their sister Bernadette a well-known traditional singer. Bernadette won an junior singing All-Ireland in early 1980s. She was Runai an Chontae in 1985 to 1987. Bernadette was a very generous and kind girl who shared her talent promoting our traditions. When County Comhaltas started singing seminars in early nineties Bernadette and the late Bill Flanagan, Holycross were tutors. When Bill was laid to rest in April l997 Bernadette gave a lovely rendering of Bill’s favourite song “The cottage with the roses around the door” in the Abbey graveyard. We in Comhaltas will miss you Bernadette.
