This June, for the first time since its release in 2000, David Kitt will be performing his debut album Small Moments in its entirety at The Source - his only Tipperary gig!

This intimate collection of home recordings received rave reviews when released and won a legion of admirers including David Bowie, Graham Linehan and the great Bob Harris (Old Grey Whistle Test).

David will be accompanied by his brother Robbie who memorably featured on the album aged just 10 at the time, but who is now an accomplished musician in his own right.

In addition to performing Small Moments, they will perform a second set of material spanning Kitt’s ten-year career and some brand new songs.

Anyone with even half a musical ear cannot help but fall in love with David’s songwriting skills.

To paraphrase the elegant You and The City from Small Moments - this is an album for those who have ‘forgotten what it’s like when darkness shows no sign of life’.

Kitt’s darkness is full of life, and the listener is all the better for it.

David Kitt will play at The Source Arts Centre on Saturday, June 9th - tickets are priced at E18 (E16 concession).

A County Clare-based nursery-rhyme-performing and traditional Irish band are gaining momentum in radio and education circles.

The Speks are a bunch of relatively unknown musicians from a mysterious island - Glasses Island that lies off the coast of Clare - and have come together to bring their brand of Irish music, accompanying all-time favourite nursery rhymes to the world and to Thurles!

Their debut album won a prestigious Parents’ Choice music award in the US and the music has already been downloaded in 40 countries, drawing rave reviews like “riverdance for toddlers” and “grown-up music for kids”. Their songs encompass the all important areas of rhyme, rhythm and repetition - so frequently the missing links for children learning to read.

Finding music that appeals to both children and parents is a hard thing to do these days, finding music that is bags of fun for the whole family? Look no further than The Speks- sing along and sing loud!

The Speks feature at The Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Saturday, June 9th - shows at 12.30pm & 2.30pm. Tickets: E5.
