Integrated Dance provides a unique nonverbal environment where disabled and able bodied people can feel their equality and shared humanity through an immediate and visceral experience.

Tipperary Dance Residency was initiated in 2008 by South Tipperary County Council Arts Service and Tipperary Excel Arts & Cultural Centre to develop contemporary dance in South Tipperary. The Residency is hosted by the Tipperary Excel Centre. Directed since 2008 by Jazmin Chiodi and Alexandre Iseli, the Residency promotes an integrated model for the development of dance.

It is strongly connected to the community providing workshops to community groups and national schools. Since its inception in 2008, the Residency has created the Dance in Schools scheme, offering free workshops and one performance to five different South Tipperary schools each year in spring, accounting, for the engagement with more than 25 groups and 600 children between 2008 and 2011.

This successful programme meets a very positive response from the teachers and children alike. If you are a school principal, teacher or parent, don’t hesitate to contact us to register, or for more details about the program.
