The Source Arts Centre will host a ‘Circus Summer School’ from Monday, July 21st to Friday, July 25th. Learn new skills, make new friends and clown around!

Cloughjordan native Jo Williams has over 15 years of circus knowledge and training.

Over the course of five days at the Circus Summer School in The Source Arts Centre participants will be introduced to a wide range of skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Students will learn how to warm up for each skill with basic movement and posture exercises as well as being encouraged to express themselves and be creative in their exploration of each skill.

Jo Williams trained and taught with Skylight Circus Arts, Belfast Community Circus School and more recently with Circus Diaspora. She established Cloughjordan Circus Club when she moved there in 2010 and it has become a thriving circus club in the heart of Tipperary.

With her many years of experience Jo has created fantastic large-scale circus theatre and site-specific performances for large community casts including St Patrick’s day performances.

Circus skills perfected over the week include juggling, diabolo, stilt walking, tight wire, hat manipulation, unicycle, hula hooping and much more.

The week-long school is facilitated by Little Bigtop’s Joanna Williams (Circus Instructor) and Julie Lockett (Dance Artist & Choreographer).

Bookings can be made by contacting the box office on 0504 90204. Class times are broken up into two age groups: 8 to 11 years 10am to 12.30pm and 12-plus years 1.30pm - 4pm.

The summer camp costs €70 (€65 for siblings).
