Terryglass Arts Festival is delighted to announce a ‘fringe’ element to this year’s festival which takes place from August 13th to August 17th.
This additional element is entitled “Mixum Gatherum” and includes a lunch time poetry reading and a musical treat. As part of “Mixum Gatherum” local published poet, founding member and programme curator for the Dromineer Literary Festival, Eleanor Hooker, will read some of her poetry and discuss her love of words and how she began her career as a poet on Friday, August 15th in Riverrun Cottages at 1pm, Admission for this unique event is priced at just €5.
Jazz singer Ursula Connolly, formerly of the Fallen Angels, a female cappella foursome, will perform a lively set of Jazz and Swing tunes. Ursula has been performing throughout the north-west and has performed sell-out concerts for three years running at The Carrick-on-Shannon Water Music Festival - see Ursula perform on Saturday, August 16th in Riverrun Cottages at 1pm - admission €8.
Musical entertainment continues on Saturday, August 16th at Terryglass Quay from the 2nd Brigade Army Band followed by monster after dark fireworks display.
Sunday is family fun day featuring The Gingerbreadman puppet show from Miriam Lambert puppets, The Exploration Dome with short colourful 3D films in a dome tent and a street performance from Buí Bolg - Sunday, August 17th from 2pm in Terryglass Village Square.
