As it is the bicentenary of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol the play seems to be everywhere you look this season.

The Source Arts Centre is lucky enough to have one of Britain’s leading stage actors, Clive Francis, reprise his role as Scrooge in this stunning one-man adaptation.

Having been described as “the definitive Scrooge” Clive Francis and Charles Dickens go together like plum pudding and brandy butter.

A Christmas Carol is arguably the second most famous Christmas story after the virgin birth. It has captured a place in the hearts of us all.

The story of the infamous skinflint Ebenezer Scrooge and his ultimate redemption has also inspired many film versions that we grew up with.

Whether your favorite version is by The Muppets or starring George C Scott this Dickens tale is a beautifully gift-wrapped Christmas message about affection and a man who has cut himself off from the human race in the pursuit of money without realizing it has made him all the poorer.

There is universal appeal and belief in A Christmas Carol and the transforming power of stories. Don’t miss a unique opportunity to see this intimate and beautiful production.
