The Rubberbandits, Pat Shortt, David O’Doherty, Tom Stade, Patrick Monahan, Simon Evans, Alun Cochrane and Tony Law are among the many comedy stars that will feature at the sixth Bulmers Comedy Festival at O’Keeffe’s, Clonmel from Thursday, November 22nd to Sunday, November 25th. For four days O’Keeffe’s will become comedy central as Clonmel hosts the finest, funniest and sharpest comedians at what is now regarded as one of the best boutique comedy festivals in Ireland.
The Bulmers Comedy Festival has grown since its beginning in 2007 to become a major event on the comedy circuit in Ireland by regularly attracting big international names and introducing stars of the future to Ireland. The organisers have trawled the comedy circuit, plucking the hottest tickets from the Edinburgh Festival and for 2012 have selected the cream of the comedy crop from Canada, Norway, USA, UK and Ireland. With tickets starting from just E10 you’d want to be having a laugh not to check out this year’s Bulmers Comedy Festival at O’Keeffe’s, Clonmel.
Festival Director Fergal O’Keeffe explained that “we now have a reputation at the Edinburgh Fringe for breaking new talent. So, this has enabled the festival to give Irish debuts to the likes of Sarah Millican, Lee Nelson, Patrick Monahan, Edinburgh Comedy Award winners Adam Riches (2011) and The Boy with Tape on his Face (2012). We continue the tradition this year by giving debuts to the Edinburgh Best Newcomer Winner 2012 Norwegian Daniel Simonsen and Canadian comedian, Katherine Ryan”.
The festival box office is at Hearn’s Hotel and is selling the tickets or call 052 612 1611 or online atclonmelcomedy.com.
