Dublin singer-songwriter Declan O’Rourke comes to Nenagh Arts Centre to perform on Saturday, July 7th.
O’Rourke came to Dublin in his mid-twenties and soon found himself trading songs with the likes of Paddy Casey, Gemma Hayes, Damian Rice as well as other top Irish singer-songwriters.
On its release in Ireland his first album, Since Kyabram, reached double platinum status and garnered Hot Press magazine’s Best Debut Album award.
Today his songs have been covered by many artists including Josh Groban and performed by Paul Weller of The Jam.
Declan has toured extensively in Europe opening for the likes of Weller, Snow Patrol, Teddy Thompson, The Cardigans, Paulo Nutini, Badly Drawn Boy, Divine Comedy and Paul Brady.
After a break of almost three years he returned with a new album in 2011; Mag Pai Zai was recently cited as one of 101 Irish Albums to Hear Before You Die by Tony Clayton-Lea, music editor of the Irish Times.
