The Red Kettle Theatre Company and Garter Lane Arts Centre present ‘Beyond the Brooklyn Sky’, a play written by Michael Hillard-Mulcahy and directed by Peter Sheridan, at The Source Arts Centre on Wednesday, November 13th and Thursday, November 14th.

‘Beyond the Brooklyn Sky’ is a compelling play about a group of friends who grew up together in Kerry and emigrated to the States in the 80s, some of them stayed, some of them came back, got married but they all went their separate ways.

Now they’re all meeting up back in what was their local village dancehall to celebrate the return of one of their own Jack Flynn who has flown single-handed across the Atlantic in a small plane.

‘Beyond The Brooklyn Sky’ is an unapologetic theatrical soap opera, full of sentiment and nostalgia, lovers and secrets, and is all the more enjoyable for it.

With shows such as ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘I Keano’ under his belt director Peter Sheridan does a fantastic job marshaling the myriad forces at play to create a memorable, moving and magnificent production that hits all the emotional triggers.

This production also features some of the best actors in the country including ‘Fair City’ star Una Kavanagh, ‘Tom Crean’ star and creator Aidan Dooley and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Vinnie McCabe - you will be riveted by this terrific production right from the start.

‘Beyond the Brooklyn Sky’ features at The Source Arts Centre, Thurles on Wednesday, November 13th and Thursday, November 14th at 8pm. Tickets are priced at €18 (€15 concession). Contact the box office on 0504 90204 or see thesourceartscentre.ie for more information.
