Nenagh to host medieval re-enactment during People’s Picnic

Nenagh Castle will host a medieval re-enactment on August 24 as part of Heritage Week. The event include a combat and cookery demonstrations and stalls, and will be run in conjunction with the People’s Picnic in the church grounds.

Nenagh Castle will host a medieval re-enactment on August 24 as part of Heritage Week. The event include a combat and cookery demonstrations and stalls, and will be run in conjunction with the People’s Picnic in the church grounds.

Cllr Hughie McGrath, who is behind the People’s Picnic, told Nenagh Town Council the gates will be open between the castle and the church and people can wander between the two events.

The legendary Paddy Cole will join Nenagh Mint Jazz Band on stage and a dance area will be installed in the church grouds for the day.

Cllr Virginia O’Dowd, who organsed the re-enactment, said both events will compliment each other.
