Brian Ború celebrated as part of the Kincora Trad Weekend

April 2014 marks the 1000-year anniversary of the death of Killaloe’s most famous son King Brian Ború - a month-long celebration of the life of our former High King will begin on Friday, April 4th the Kincora Traditional Weekend - lots of music, songs and a whole lot of pipes!

The 2014 Kincora Trad Weekend is a weekend packed with seisiúns, concerts, recitals, workshops and more - music workshops will include Banjo with Theresa O’ Grady and Concertina with Bernie Geraghty. Places are limited and selling well, so do book soon!

Afternoon music recitals return with a song recital by Hector Gilchrist & Liz Thompson in Tuscany Bistro Ballina on Saturday, April 5th and a flute and fiddle recital featuring Paul Smyth and his guest Manus McGuire both are free events.

The gala concert takes place in O’Donovan’s Brian Ború on the Hill, Ballina at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 5th.
