David O’Doherty

Our favorite comedian, writer, film star, television star and ex-professional cyclist is back. The one, the only David O’Doherty.

As with many comedians, appearances can be deceptive, and in O’Doherty’s case the shabby look, bumbling delivery and cheap kids’ Casio keyboard mask a razor-sharp wit and a deliciously dark outlook on life.

As far as we are concerned Channel 4’s 8 Out of Ten Cats has never been better since he became a regular panelist.

O’Doherty is so witty, charming and self-deprecating his grouchiness actually enhances his comedy shows.

Early booking for David O’Dhoerty’s show on Friday, February 15th (8pm) at the Source Arts Centre in advised and tickets are priced at E18 (E14 concession).

Wonderland Drama Workshops

Wonderland Workshops and Camps began in 2005. Five years later after a very successful run as the theatre company in residence at the Mermaid Arts Centre, Wonderland began to hold week-long children’s Workshops which have been so popular that they have now gone on a nationwide tour and The Source Arts Centre is delighted to host its very first workshop this year.

The workshop will uniquely combine a ‘stage school’ with the work of the professional theatre company. Every workshop leader is a professionally-trained theatre/opera practitioner. The five-day workshop for seven to 12-year-olds will run daily from 11am-4pm including a lunch break. At the end of the week the workshop will culminate in a showcase of the drama, dance and music pieces the young performers have developed for an invited audience of family and friends. The aim of the week-long workshop is for the children to make friends, to perform, to learn life skills, to encourage each young performer to grow and develop through the performing arts and most importantly, to have the best of fun together! From backstage to centre stage this fun week of training offers your child a chance to shine.

The Wonderland Drama Workshop runs from Tuesday, April 2nd to Saturday, April 6th (11am to 4pm) and costs E95/E85 (two children in same family). The workshop is suitable for children aged seven to 12 years of age.
