We had a comprehensive meeting last Thursday 22nd November in Lakeside Hotel, Ballina. All Sub-Committees are now in place, Finance - Pascall Grey (Treasurer) Bronagh Moriarty, Mark Forde and Paddy Collins. Events and Signage - Noel Bugler, Paul MacPartlin and Paul Smith (P.R.O.).
Stewarding Brendan Quinn with Tom Cleary and Ned Quinn. An tAifreann Ince Ui hEidhneain (Treorai na Gaeilge) with Denise Kennedy. Programme Jane Seymour, who will put 2013 Ballina Fleadh on Facebook also on the “Gathering“ website.
Comhaltas will honour the late Paddy O’Brien, and Michael Cooney, Littleton will be home from U.S. at Fleadh week-end The two Leas Runai Mairead Kennedy and Bridie McGrath looking after Churchgate collections, maybe Carol Singing if feasible. Also will have bag packing in Killaloe and Nenagh. Noel Bugler will organise “Following the Wren“ on St Stephen’s Day (D.V.) - sessions in Pubs in the area. Johnny McGrath’s “Reeling in the Years“ was mentioned. Catering with the experienced Sheila Lonergan, Anne Quinn and Mary Dunne.
There will be a Seomra na Gaeilge at the Fleadh week-end in the School with the competitions venues with Anne Benson and Mary O’Donoghue. The Committee also hope to have Marching Band Competition on 17/19 May weekend linking Killaloe and Ballina. Paul Smith will contact 2 local historians in area to compile articles for the Programme.
Arrangements to hold Ceili will be made before our next meeting, which will be held on Thursday 24th January in Lakeside Hotel.(D.V.)
