Nenagh Ormond RFC are now accepting entries for its inaugural Ruck n Roll Tag Rugby Festival on Saturday, July 21st. Registration has been extended for one more week, but must close on July 14th.

This is a full-day festival with teams travelling from all over Tipperary and Munster to take part in the tag rugby blitz.

Already registered are teams from the Talbot, Team Maximus, Carey’s Glass factory, the Malthouse & Proctor & Gamble. So, why not round up a team from your own workplace?

Tag rugby is non-contact. Teams are made up of twelve players and each team must have three ladies on the pitch at all times. Nenagh Ormond will supply tag-belts for all players on the day. Team entry costs E200 - price includes entry to the après-tag outdoor live music gig. To register your team please download a registration form from: www.nenaghormondrfc.com.

The festival will also include a pitch-side pop-up restaurant pig-out for players and spectators to enjoy. A pig will be roasting on a spot from early Saturday morning. Fresh pizzas topped with only the freshest of ingredients will also be available while keenly-priced beers and cocktails courtesy of Shakin-it-Up cocktails will be on sale.

The après-tag party will attract non-rugby fans.

Once the tag rugby has finished the live music Ruck n Roll stage kicks-off at 5pm with Moneygall band TailorMade. Taking to the stage at 6pm will be Killaloe’s Noel McInerney, followed by Penny Wentworth, then Portroe’s Marie Quigley. These acts have all enjoyed recent success at the You Got It talent competition in the Kenyon Bar. Next up will be local-band Uncle Egg - this group of local lads will be making a much anticipated comeback after having their heads stuck in the books for the last few months. This will be their last appearance as Uncle Egg. So, don’t miss it!

Headlining the gig will be Hermitage Green. Barry Murphy and Felix Jones, Munster rugby players, are members of this very popular band. This acoustic, folk band have quickly made a name for themselves over the last 12 months. Following on from their recent packed-house gigs in the Talbot, Nenagh we are delighted to be welcoming them back to Nenagh. They pack out pubs and clubs in Limerick and Cork seven a nights a week.

To register your team download a registration form from www.nenaghormondrfc.com.

For non-tag players and revellers who want to come and party ‘till late tickets for the concert are on sale in our online shop on www.nenaghormondrfc.com at just E10 per person. On July 21st the rugby club grounds will be closed to cars. Please take a taxi, grab a lift or walk to the grounds. There will be a car-park available near to the grounds, but the organisers would prefer if you left the car at home.
