GARDAI in Nenagh are appealing for assistance with their enquiries following a number of serious assaults in the town over the weekend.

A number of people were treated for injuries after a row broke out on Pearse St on Sunday night in the aftermath of Tipperary's hurling quarter final victory over Galway.

One man is believed to have suffered serious facial injuries as a result of an assault.

Gardai were also forced to intervene in a number of other incidents in what was an extremely busy night for the force.

Gardai have questioned a number of people in relation to the incidents and prosecutions are expected to follow.

However, anyone who may have any information on the assaults are asked to contact 067 31333 in confidence.
