Cashel Girl Guides Visit Fota

Cashel Girl Guides will be getting a free trip with Iarnród Éireann today, Saturday 15th September, when they travel on the 10.20hrs service from Thurles to Fota.

Cashel Girl Guides comprises of Ladybirds, Brownies and Guides ranging in age from 5 – 15 years of age. A spokesperson said “we are delighted to have won this wonderful prize. We had 50 pairs of fingers and toes crossed in anticipation of winning the tickets. A huge thank you to all in Iarnród Éireann for making this possible for us, we are really looking forward to the day!”

Under the Journey’s on us initiative, 100 groups of up to 50 people per group in the voluntary, community, charity and sporting sector will receive a free return group travel journey from Iarnród Éireann, across any of the company’s services. The travel facilities will be ideal in particular for organisations bringing a group to a special event, or as part of a specific support to the members of the group which requires travel.

An Iarnród Éireann spokesperson said: “We wish Cashel Girl Guides a very enjoyable trip and are delighted that we can be involved with their group. The Journey’s on us is our way of acknowledging all the great events and initiatives that go on in communities across the country”
