“Go Katie Go” the title of the new song composed by Roscrea composer Seamus Doran will be released on i-tunes in the coming days.

The song, in honour of our gold medal star, Katie Taylor, promises to be a “knockout hit” with fans and sporting enthusiasts throughout Ireland and across the globe. The song was in the words of it’s composer “divinely inspired” after Taylor’s first fight against the dangerous British fighter, Natasha Jonas.

After watching that fight, Seamus Doran like the rest of the country knew we were in for a special week. Seamus said he felt inspired watching one of the worlds must accomplished athletes flying the flag for Ireland. Seamus had the song composed within an hour of Katie’s maiden voyage at the Olympic Games. No semi final or final victory over Sofya Ochigava was needed. Regardless what the outcome of Katie’s week in London was, Doran was determined to release this song in honour of a person who has brought world recognition to her sport and lifted the sprits of a nation in doing so.

The song will be sung by Carmel Minogue who has partnered Seamus on so many of his previous projects.A percentage of the receipts will be given to Crumblin Hospital and a special cd will be produced and presented to our Olympic champion.
