Roscrea Comhaltas
The members of the branch felt a deep sense of elation and relief when the last note was played at the St. Patricks Day televised Mass last Sunday.
It ended a mind boggling, programme of practises and rehersals, and it has to be stated that all involved can be very proud of their performances, in what was a very unique occassain not just for the branch but for our nation as a whole. The programme displayed the deep ecumenical bond between the christian communities of our town and surrounding areas. The mass was very moving amd Fr. Corbett excelled in his homily. A big Bula Bas to all involved. The next major event takes place this Saturday in the Classach centre in Clontarf when both the Junior and Senior members compete in the Phleraca finals. The Junior section commences in the morning while the Senior competition will be held in the late afternoon, best wishes to all involved in the competitions. This will be the last major event prior to fleadh competitions commencing. Branch members once again entertained prior to the commencement of the parade on St. Patricks Day. Thanks to all who were present it was a very demanding day.
