Rehearsals Are In Full Swing For The Producers

Rehearsals are in full swing for the Tipperary Musical Society’s upcoming production of The Producers.

Be sure to get your tickets early for one of thefunniest musicals of all time!

The Producers tells the story of Max Bialystock (Willie Ryan Bun) who was once the king of Broadway, but now all his shows close on opening night. One day Max is visited by a timid accountant Leo Bloom(John Murray) who remarks that under the right circumstances a producer could make more money from a flop that a hit.

The plan is very simple. Raise far more money than you need and then make sure the show is hated by everyone. No one will be interested in it, so you can pocket the surplus. To insure their plan works they produce a musical called Springtime for Hitler which has been written by former Nazi Franz Liebkind (John Murphy). They also get the insanely flamboyant Roger De Bris(Cathal O’Donoghue) to direct.

With all this in place how could their plan go wrong?

The show will feature the award-winning cast which won best overall show at the 2012 AIMS awards in Killarney.

The Producers is a must see. With dancing Nazi soldiers and little old ladies named hold me, touch me and kiss me, feel me audiences are sure to be holding their sides with laughter.

Don’t be disappointed, be sure to get your tickets for this hilarious comedy. The show is running from February 18th to February 23rd in the Simon Ryan Theatre, Tipperary Excel Centre, Tipperary Town. The box office is now open and tickets are selling fast. Please call the box office on 062 80520.
