Irish Red Cross to Hold Open Night

The Roscrea Branch of the Irish Red Cross Society is donating at Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D) to the Community of Roscrea following numerous enquiries from members of the public to Roscrea Red Cross. An A.E.D is a portable electronic device that can deliver a controlled electric shock to the heart to try restore a normal heart rhythm during a Cardiac Arrest.

The Roscrea Branch of the Irish Red Cross will hold an open night in the Roscrea Community Centre, Rosemary Street, Roscrea on Friday 02/11/2012, and we welcome all members of the public who are interested in being trained in the use of the A.E.D for the purpose of this community scheme to attend. All members of the public who complete training will receive a Certificate to confirm they are Community First Responders.

This is a life saving device, the Roscrea Unit of the Irish Red Cross would like to thank An Garda Siochana in Roscrea for all their support and for allowing the A.E.D to be stored in the Garda Station on Main Street in Roscrea.

We encourage all members of the pubic interested in taking part in the course to come to our open night on Friday 02/11/2012, as this is a life saving device for the Community of Roscrea.
