The 2012 Thurles Halloween Arts Festival was officially launched last week by the committee with a line-up that is sure to keep everyone entertained during the spooky season.

The festival will kick off on Thursday, October 25th and will run for six days finishing up on Halloween night with its usual spectacular fireworks display. The festival, which is in its fifth year, is now one of the biggest Halloween festivals in Ireland and is sure to attract people from all over the country.

As part of the line-up the committee are delighted to announce a circuit race around the streets of Thurles which will be run by Team DMG in conjunction with Cycling Ireland.

Fronted by Nenagh native Rene Van Dam this cycling event will be one of the highlights of the festival and will have cyclists from all over Ireland converging on the town to compete for the title of European Town of Sport Champion.

Chairman of the festival committee Cllr Jim Ryan states that a lot of time and effort has gone into putting together a wide and varied programme of events for the festival and that there are some really exciting events planned for the six days.

The official festival brochures will be available over the next few days which will show the entire line-up but suffice to say,Thurles will be the place to be this Halloween. Check out the website on www.thurleshalloweenfestival.com for more details and also the Tipperary Star over the next few weeks.
