Excel Writers Prepare To Launch Anthology

December 6th is the date, 8pm is time and the Tipperary Excel is the venue for the launch of the first book of writing from the Tipperary Excel Creative Writers group.

This anthology, which is being published with the support of the Tipperary VEC, is a first for the group. There is great excitement and enthusiasm among the members at this their first venture into print.

The creative writing classes are a part of the South Tipperary Community Education Service and have been running for the last three and a half years under the excellent tutelage of Sheila Quealey who has helped the participants to develop and hone their writing skills.

The wider benefits of the classes are difficult to quantify, but the growth in personal development and confidence has led to the group broadcasting their stories on Tipp Mid West Radio on several occasions and increasing success in the printed media with some participants having their work published and others winning short stories competitions.

The classes have expanded their focus this term to include the introduction of literature and the already firm friendships that have grown out of these classes have deepened overly the lively debates that only a good book can inspire.

All are welcome to the launch of this anthology on December 6th - it will make a very nice Christmas present for family and friends at home or abroad and will be available to purchase on the night for E10.
