The Roscrea Lions First Drama Festival was a tremendous success with a full house recorded for each night. The productions from 6 drama groups was of the highest standard and the adjudicator, Dara Carolan was impressed by the acting, production values and the audience response on the 3 nights. Having evaluated the 6 productions the adjudicator decided that the winning group was Birr Stage Guild and their production of Campbell Black’s “And they used to star in the movies”

The bursary for the winning group was one thousand euro. Already plans are in place for next years festival with groups already booking their places. The Lions would like to thanks all who made this first festival a success especially the drama groups who gave their time and talent, the public who thronged to the Abbey Hall to be entertained and the adjudicator Dara Carolan who gave a wonderful analysis of each production and Michael Costigan who performed an interval act on the Friday night. A special thanks also to all our sponsors.
