Clonmel Concert In Aid Of Lily Mae
Please join us for an evening of song in Old St Mary’s Church in Clonmel on Friday, November 23rd for Mimi’s Concert – Tiny Dancer by A Song for Lily Mae.
Lily Mae Morrison from Clare-Galway is a four-year-old who was recently diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma.
The research into this fatal disease has thus far been poorly funded and despite the fact that it is killing some of our once healthy children there is no cure.
Lily Mae is the daughter of Leighton Morrison a dancer and Judith Sibley a choreographer and she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up. Her parents want her to survive.
In his fundraising campaign her uncle Paul set up the Sunni Mae Trust. All money raised in the trust-fund goes directly to assist her medical expenses and to research for Neuroblastoma. To assist in this mammoth project Stephen Macken from Galway co-ordinated the recording of “Tiny Dancer by a Song for Lily Mae”.
Recording took place in September with a celebrity line-up of Mary Black, Mundy, Adela and the Meanits, Gavin James, Conor Quinn and Richie Hayes from RTE’s talent programme The Voice, Rob Vickers who played Jean Vajean in London’s West End Hit musical Les Miserables, Paddy Casey, Mary Couglan, Tom Dunne from Something Happens and Newstalk and The Brennan sisters to name but a few. Mimi Lane and her mother Schira from Clonmel were among the soloists involved and they were joined by a chorus of over 250 choral voices.
