Haiti Walk Appeal - A fundraising walk will take place on Sundy 7th October at 12 noon from PJ Ryan’s Pub Rosmult Upperchurch. A choice of 4, 6, or 8km walks. All proceeds will go towards Padraig Cleary’s return trip to Hait in November to build houses. Refreshments provided in Ryan’s Pub afterwards. All welcome. Please bring suitable footwear.

On TG4 - Among the contestants who will be featured on the TG4 programme “Jockey Eile”, which will be shown on Sunday evenings at 8pm, will be Niamh Doyle, daughter of Jim and Claire, Moyneard. The first installment will be shown on this Sunday Oct 7th. We wish Niamh the very best of luck.

All Ireland Minor Victory - Warmest congradulations to Paul Maher who as goalie played a central role, making crucial saves in the semi-final against Galway, ensuring that Tipp brought home the Irish Press Cup once again. Well done also to Sean Martin, son of Nora Cantwell, formerly Lisaticey, Johnnnie Hamill, neighbour of Catherine Dunne, Moyneard, Dylon Fitzgerald, nephew of Patricia Quinlan, and Stephen Cahill, grandson of Tommy Brolan, formerly of Killoran.

Bridge Club - Winners on Sept 20th. 1St: Kitty Doyle and Joan Neally. 2Nd: JJ Butler and Michael Ryan. 3Rd: Mary Kennelly and erjfhjk Roberts. Warmest congradulations to club member Joanie Cantwell, whose grandson, Sean Maher, Clonoulty, played a leading role in the Minor hurler’s victory last Sunday.

Album Launch - “This is me”, an album which was recorded by well-known GAA official Jonathan Cullen, Ballyknockane was launched at Nolan’s Bar, Castleiney on Saturday, September 29th, with all proceeds raised going to the “Jack and Jill” Childrens Foundation. We wish him every success with this very worthy cause.

Late Sr. Gerard Forristal - The death occurred peacfully on September 24th of Sr. Gerard (Nancy) Forristal, St John of God Convent, College Rd, Kilkenny and formerly Cooleeney. She was in her mid eighties and had served faithfully in god’s vieyard for over 60 years. The daughter of the late Mick and Brigid (nee Delaney) Forristal. The reposal was at the Convent Chapel and following concelebrated requiem mass at St. Patrick’s Church, Kilkenny, her mortal remains were laid to rest in Foulkstown cemetery kilkenny. Deepestr sympathy to her sisters, nephews, nieces, grandaughters, grandnieces, Community, relatives and friends.
