Holycross - Ballycahill

Let’s Celebrate - Ballycahill Hall Committee invite you to an celebration in honour of St. Brigid, on the eve of her feast, Thursday, 31st January at 7.30 pm in the Community Centre. Come and make your own Brigid’s cross and hear the story of the patron herself. This is an opportunity for individuals of all ages, friends and families to gather together to make or learn how to make the crosses. Rushes will be supplied. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Drama Group - The local Holycross-Ballycahill Drama Group held their function in Parker’s Restaurant on Friday night. The get together was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The big numbers in attendance included new and old thespians however ‘Drama Man’ Pat McGrath was man of the night. More anon.

Late Late Show - Local teacher Claire Ryan and daughter Niamh together with her mother and mother-in-law were in the audience for Ryan Tubridy’s Late Late Show on Friday night last.

“The Way of St James” - Now living in Thurles Commandant Michael Walsh, a retired and former aide de camp to H.E., the President of Ireland, is to undertake a 2500k trek on foot. It will begin from Holycross Abbey ending in Santiago De Compostella in Spain which will follow the ancient route known as “The Way of St. James”.
