Christmas Ceremonies - The Abbey: Friday, December 21st Penitential Rite 8pm. Confessions Christmas Eve 2pm – 4pm and 6pm to 6.30pm. Christmas Eve Mass 7pm. Christmas Day 9am & 11am (no 4pm Mass). Ballycahill Church: Confessions Christmas Eve before the Mass at 6pm. Christmas Eve Mass 6pm, Christmas Day Mass 10am.

Table Quiz - Table Quiz in aid of Ballycahill N.S. in The Thatch Bar, Ballycahill on this Friday, 14th December at 9 p.m. Table of 4, €20. All welcome.

Active Retirement Group - The annual Christmas Dinner was this year held in the Abbey Tavern on a cold frosty night, we were indeed happy on entering the dining area to be met with a glow of hot air. Kevin & Sandra, whom we thank, had their place really nice and cosy for the occasion. It was great to see so many in their autumnal years enjoying themselves and sorry to miss a few familiar faces. After partaking of the Christmas Fare the usual raffle was held. The committee had numerous prizes for the lucky ticket holders. As a result of the raffle a nicely sum of money, the entire proceeds has since been given to the local branch of St Vincent de Paul towards their Christmas Fund appeal. There was song, dance and music after the meal which got the group into the nights merriment. Who other should call in under the guise of Santa Claus but the ubiquitous Paddy Hayes, Glenbane, sharing his bag of ‘goodies’ with all present. What a nice though Santa, even though some of us are old in years we are still young at heart. To the organising committee many thanks for your work, your time and endeavours in making the night a happy occasion.

Collection - Holycross Ballycahill G.A.A. Club Collection this weekend, December 15th and 16th before all Masses. They will appreciate your financial support no matter how small so don’t pass by the plate without putting the few euro on it.
