Hurling - The Kilruane MacDonaghs U/21 hurlers put up a great display before losing to Thurles by 2-14 to 1-13 in an outstanding county semi-final played in Templemore on Sunday, 23rd December. Well done to the panel of players and their mentors for their efforts during the year. On St. Stephens day the Kilruane MacDonaghs senior hurlers participated in a 7-a-side tournament in Lorrha. They defeated Borrisokane in the opening game and lost to Portumna in their final game. This tournament was staged to raise funds for Lorrha hurler Tony Hogan who was seriously injured in a car accident in London this year.

Community Choir - Cloughjordan Community Choir performed on the Methodist Service which was broadcast on RTE 1 television on Sunday 23rd December. Well done to the 30 strong choir who performed with great distinction on the programme.

Sale Of Work - Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA club are holding their biggest ever Sale Of Work and auction in the GAA complex in Cloughjordan on Sunday, 27th January. Items for sale will include; timber, turf, farm produce, cakes, beer, spirits and electrical goods. There will also be a sale of second hand books with hundreds of books already donated. In addition the ever popular wheel of fortune will be in operation with plenty of valuable prizes to be won. There will be plenty of bargains for everyone so don’t miss your opportunity on Sunday 27th January.

Visitors - Welcome home to the many Cloughjordan natives who returned home for Christmas from overseas. There was a big contingent from Perth for the festive period.
