Killenaule
Killenaule Ladies Soccer -The league resumed again this weekend with an away game to unbeaten Cahir. The girls had a fantastic win in a game dominated by the wind. Shauna Hayes got us off to a great start with a well taken goal after 5 mins. But Cahir replied within 5 mins from a corner to leave it 2-1 at half time. In the second half Cahir had the wind and put a lot of pressure on Killenaule with Erin Slattery holding strong in the middle of the field and Cahir were denied 2 certain goals by Roisin Trehy and Eidin Murphy stopping the ball on the line. The pressure was relieved when Michelle Meagher sent a great ball to Katie O’Regan who finished in style and 5 mins later Katie O’Regan headed home a Shauna Hayes corner. But with 10 mins to go Jennifer Grant had 2 goals for Cahir and the game was wide open again until Shauna Hayes sent Katie O’Regan through again to seal the game. The final score 5-3 to Killenaule. Team: Sharon Hanley, Eidin Murphy, Aoife O’Connor, Roisin Trehy, Aimee Maloney, Michelle Meagher, Erin Slattery, Ellen Walsh, Shauna Hayes, Katie O’Regan and Edel O’Dwyer. Subs used: Cait Murphy, Roisin O’Regan and Aisling O’Dwyer. Other subs: Nell Trehy, Fiona O’Connor and Hannah Stapleton.
