The Festival commenced on Friday night in the Arms Hotel with an Irish Night of music song and dance. On Saturday at 2pm “TWISTED” a 5km obstacle fun run took place in the Town Park. This was an occasion not likely to be forgotten in the near future. People turned out in their hundreds to take part in this amazing event. The park proved an ideal venue for “Twisted” offering lots of other activities such as boat rides on its beautiful lake. After an adventurous afternoon in the park the Town Square was set alive later that night with music and song. Sean Mongey and friends entertained the onlookers with Traditional Irish Music. At 8pm The “Revits” Roscrea, performed and rocked the Square. Taking us into the late hours of the night was “Manna South Original”…. a legendary local band comprising Fran Denny, Dermot Kelly and our very own Lord Mayor Michael Ryan. The sound of “Manna South” echoed through the skies and out to surrounding parishes, the atmosphere was truly amazing. The festival mania continued into the late hours of the morning in all the Pubs in Templemore, which hosted music for all to enjoy.
