SOUTH Tipperary General Hospital must implement a full scale review of its hygiene standards following a scathing report of its cleanliness.

The Health and Safety Quality Authority (HIQA) found that there was an immediate and “serious risk” to patients arising from the practise of placing patients with communicable diseases in a corridor used as a patient thoroughfare from the main hospital entrance to the Emergency Department.
