AN application has been lodged with North Tipperary County Council for permission to build a new state-of-the-art school campus in Roscrea, on the site of an existing school.

AN application has been lodged with North Tipperary County Council for permission to build a new state-of-the-art school campus in Roscrea, on the site of an existing school.

The Board of Management of Airhill Sacred Heart Primary School in Parkmore, Roscrea, has plans to demolish the existing school building on a phased basis, and replace it with a new state-of-the art campus including new play areas.

The plans include: “phased demolition of existing school and associated prefabricated temporary teaching accommodation units; temporary relocation of existing prefabricated teaching unit for use by school during construction period; the construction of a new part single storey and part two-storey school building including 12 Classrooms, seven Special Education Tuition Rooms, a Multi-purpose room, Library/Resource Room, GP Room, associated stores and administrative offices; construction of on-site bus turning and set down area including car park, two ball courts, play areas and bin storage area; partial demolition of existing boundary wall to ‘New Line’ and construction of new realigned boundary wall, widening of existing site entrance to south west corner of site and widening of existing access road along west site boundary and all ancillary associated site works.”

A case decision is due on or before December 2.
