Hayes Welcomes Cashel Funding

Tipperary Tom Hayes T.D. has welcomed the announcement that South Tipperary Development Company is to approve funding of €225,000 to Cashel Town Council to replace the lights on Friar Street with new decorative street lights and underground the cabling under the Village Renewal and Development measure of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013.

Deputy Hayes said:

“I know this development will enhance the economic and social attractiveness of Cashel and support Cashel’s application for UNESCO World Heritage status.”

“The proposed works will significantly upgrade the appearance of the street, which is an important access point to the town, and improve the vista of the Rock of Cashel as visitors drive down the street” Deputy Hayes concluded.
