Templemore golfer, John Galvin had a special Hole in One on Monday (6 May). He was taking part in the “Tame the Blue Monster” Open Competition in Tulfarris Golf Club on the shores of Blessington Lakes.

Calling all golf enthusiasts. The June Bank Holiday week end sees the Borris-Ileigh GAA Golf Classic taking place in Thurles Golf Club. For those who like to play the occasional round or those that parade the fairways every week, we have on offer two wonderful days of golf with prizes that won’t be matched by any other golf classic.

The Bogey Cup, as its name indicates, goes back a long way. It is a Singles against Par nowadays. The re-fixture of this year’s competition for Sunday last produced the usual ups and downs in scoring - a sort of profit and loss affair according to whether a hole is won, halved or lost. Neville Curley took the honours with two up.

Cashel/NewInn beat Cobh last weekend to win the Division 3 Munster league, securing promotion to Division 2.

LAST Friday night (April 19) in Hearns Hotel Clonmel, the final of the Senior cup was played in front of a large crowd.

There was only one walk last weekend – the short walk, led by Mary Carroll.
