Tipperary Camogie

Senior Munster semi-final - Tipperary 2-11 Limerick 0-13: played in martinstown County Limerick. The Tipperary team included county minors Tara Kennedy and playing her first senior game Mairead Teehan. Limerick had the wind at their backs and scored two quick frees whilst Tipperary put two fees wide in the difficult conditions, but a great ball in found Amy Kennedy in space and she scored a great goal giving the Limerick goalie no chance. Limerick’s Caoimhe Costello and Deidre Fitzpatrick were causing Tipperary some problems and scored great points to go five points up before Nicole Walsh scrambled in a goal after good work by Alice Fogarty.
Tipperary added further points by Jill Horan, who along with Mairead Teehan were doing great work in midfield, and Nicole Walsh, The teams were even at half time - Tipperary 2-3 Limereick 0-9.
Tipperary brought on Siobhan McGrath and Claire Kennedy on in the second half. Nicole Walsh added a further point with a well taken free. However Limerick still were causing problems, but wih goalie Rita Burke who made a fine save at point blank range and Sabrina Larkin in fine form Tipperary contained the threat and started to control the game and only a fine stop by the limerick goalie stopped Tipperary from increasing their lead. Siobhan McGrath was causing Limerick some problems and pointed a great score with Brid Quinn scoring from an acute angle Tipperary’s lead increased. Limerick came back with a couple of scores, but with points from Claire Kennedy and Nicole Walsh Tipperary closed out the game with a scoreline Tipperary 2-11 Limerick 0-13. Tipperary will play Cork in the fnial.
Tipperary scores: N. Walsh 1-6 (4f), A. Kennedy 1-0, C. Kennedy 0-2, J. Horan S. McGrath and B. Quinn 0-1 each.
Junior B Final: Congratulation to Nenagh Eire Og on defeating portroe to win the junior B league final.
