Tipperary minor football Manager David Power described The Premier County’s victory over Cork in the Munster semi-final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh as being “the most significant” for his charges as they powered their way through the decider for the fourth time in five years with a very confident display.

The annual Cashel RFC Charity Match took place on Saturday at Spafield and at the end of a very entertaining game the Tigers managed by Denis Leamy (picutred) overcame the International fifteen managed by John Hayes.

THURLES Hot Rod had a good days racing again last Sunday at The Track. Our car numbers were down a bit but a lot of the lads are holding out for our big weekend on Saturday and Sunday next (May 12th and 13th). There is an open day on Saturday for rally cars, vintage cars, modifieds, tractors, motorbikes, trucks, and also trade stands. “We also have bouncy castles, sweets, ice cream, food, and much more, and on Sunday we have the long awaited 10 on 10 rookie banger challenge,” says organiser Johnny Patterson.

The weather behaved itself. Apart from that, not a lot can be said for Sunday last. A League Final of presumed potential fell flat from the outset. Cork’s apparent improvement was not carried onto the Stadium pitch. Jimmy Barry Murphy was left looking as unhappy as say, Kerry Dalglish has been in recent times - favourite sons in charge of their own and not fated to live up to promising starts in their new capacities. Brian Cody was a contented onlooker as any fear of either threat or problem vanished in short order. The battle of the last two runners up never became even a mild contest - all too simple at Semple as the Cats swamped Cork early and had only to hold steady through a superfluous second half that maintained their fourteen points interim margin.

Féile Iomanniocht Final Ten Goal Thriller - Borrisleigh was the place to be on Monday April 30th as north champions Kilruane MacDonaghs edged out their mid rivals Durlas Og to capture their very first title in this tournament .The action commenced @7pm with the weather giving all a well earned reprieve from the terrible conditions over the past few days.

The organisers, Limerick Tipperary Students’ Union and LIT Tipperary Sports Office wish to thank all that turned up and supported their recent charity fight night.
